The MICA Lab at KU Leuven is a Belgian academic research group investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance and bacterial persistence. Its research focuses on understanding how bacteria tolerate and resist antibiotic treatment , including stress responses, biofilm formation, and persister cell biology , generating fundamental scientific knowledge that informs the development of new strategies to overcome treatment failure.
