Mark Bamforth
Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Mark is disAMR’s CEO and a General Partner in the Kineticos Anti-Microbial Resistance Accelerator (KAMRA) Fund I. In addition to extensive experience navigating the life sciences funding landscape, Mr. Bamforth founded, grew and sold three PE-backed contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMO); specifically, Arranta Bio, founded in 2019 to focus on the microbiome, which was sold to Recipharm in 2022, Brammer Bio, which was founded in 2015, supporting cell and gene therapies, and was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2019, and Gallus Biopharmaceuticals, founded in 2010 to manufacture mAbs, and was sold to Patheon in 2014.
Prior to this, he was the head of global operations at Genzyme Corporation. Mark serves on the boards of Enterobiotix, Continuus Pharmaceuticals, Kincell Bio, and Saltire Foundation (USA). He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Strathclyde University and an MBA from Henley Management College.

Richard Snyder, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer & Co-Founder
In addition to serving as disAMR’s Chief Scientific Officer, Richard is a General Partner in the Kineticos Anti-Microbial Resistance Accelerator (KAMRA) Fund I. Previously, he was the Vice President of Science and Technology, Pharma Services at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, Dr. Snyder was a Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Brammer Bio.
In addition to scientific leadership roles in industry, he was an Associate Professor of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, and Director of Biotherapeutic Programs at the University of Florida; an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School; and a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Richard received his doctoral degree in Microbiology from The State University of New York at Stony Brook and obtained his BA in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.

Nigel Walker
Chief Operational Officer & Co-Founder
More than 30 years ago, Nigel founded That’s Nice, an agency dedicated to life sciences entrepreneurial business management, sales, and brand marketing, helping companies research future trends, communicate their marketing vision, and achieve business growth goals.
Additionally, he leads Nice Consulting, a group specializing in life sciences mergers, acquisitions, funding acquisitions, and company sales. Nigel also serves as a venture and operating partner for Kineticos. He brings this expertise to disAMR to help members of the AMR community position and market their solutions and secure the funding they need. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from London College.

Dan Ferber, Ph.D.
Editor-in-Chief
Dan is an award-winning science journalist and editor whose work has taken him from the back roads of Kenya with a malaria biologist to the laboratories of top biomedical researchers. He has edited for Discover magazine and Mechanical Engineering magazine, and produced custom media for Nature and Scientific American. As a long-time contributing correspondent for Science, he covered the life sciences, and his magazine bylines include Wired, Popular Science, Smithsonian, Audubon and Nature Conservancy.
Dan also co-authored Changing Planet, Changing Health, the first book on the human health impacts of climate change. He has spoken on television and radio about global challenges and written opinion and analysis for international audiences. Before journalism, Dan earned a Ph.D. in biology from Johns Hopkins University and conducted microbiology research at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign — grounding that informs everything he writes and edits.

Tonia Becker
Publishing Strategist
Tonia Becker is a strategic content and communications professional specializing in making complex science accessible, compelling, and commercially actionable. Throughout her career, she has led messaging and content strategy for organizations across the life sciences sector, including pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and cell and gene therapy companies, translating scientific concepts into clear narratives that support brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and growth.
Tonia’s work spans brand messaging, investor communications, thought leadership, demand generation, and multi-channel content strategy. She has worked with organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to early-stage startups across pharmaceutical, synthetic biology, information technology, engineering, and specialty chemical sectors. She also spent nearly 20 years in the B2B publishing sector, including serving as the publisher for Pharmaceutical Manufacturing magazine and website. She has a B.S. in Journalism from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.

Dilán Rivera
Senior Account Manager
As an Account Manager for disAMR, Dilán brings his experience as a Kineticos Senior Analyst, with a focus on scientific due diligence, commercial strategy, and primary research. In his role, he supports operations, business development, thought leadership activities, and evaluates cell and gene therapy and AMR-focused opportunities.
He earned his Master’s in Microbial Biotechnology from NC State University, where he worked with several biotech companies in the RTP area on consulting projects. Now he hopes to use the skills he gained in graduate school to help improve patients’ lives by supporting the development of cell and gene therapy and AMR businesses.
