AMR Ambassador Removal Policy

Purpose

AMR Ambassadors represent disAMR in their workplaces, schools, and communities. Because they represent the program, disAMR may remove an Ambassador whose conduct or level of participation no longer fits the role.

Scope

This policy applies to every current AMR Ambassador, regardless of how long they have held the title or how they were appointed.

Grounds for Removal from the disAMR AMR Ambassador Program

Inactivity

An Ambassador who takes no part in Ambassador activities for six consecutive months may be removed. Participation includes sharing content, contributing to content, attending meetings, leading or supporting outreach events, and responding to program communications.

Ambassadors who expect to step away for a while because of illness, family leave, or a heavy stretch at work are exempt from the inactivity policy.

Unethical or Illegal Conduct

disAMR may remove an Ambassador who engages in illegal or unethical conduct. This applies whether or not the conduct happens during Ambassador activities. Examples include fraud, harassment or discrimination, falsifying data or credentials, misrepresenting research, unbecoming community participation, misusing disAMR’s name, violating patient or research-participant privacy, and failing to disclose a conflict of interest.

Conduct That Works Against the Community’s Goals

Ambassadors are expected to support the community’s work to reduce antimicrobial resistance. disAMR may remove an Ambassador who repeatedly spreads misinformation about antimicrobial use or resistance, promotes inappropriate antibiotic use, presents personal views as disAMR positions, or treats other community members in ways that drive them away from the work.

Good-faith disagreement about strategy or evidence is welcome. It is never, by itself, grounds for removal.

Reporting a Concern

Anyone can report a concern about an Ambassador to info@disamr.com. We will reply to your email as soon as possible.

After Removal

A removed Ambassador must stop using the AMR Ambassador title and any disAMR branding or materials. disAMR will remove the person from its Ambassador directory, website, and communication channels.

A former Ambassador may reapply after 12 months. disAMR may decline to readmit anyone removed for illegal or unethical conduct.

Confidentiality and Protection From Retaliation

disAMR keeps reports and reviews confidential as far as it can while still conducting a fair review. Retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith is itself grounds for removal.
